I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas who offers marriage counseling, couples counseling, and premarital counseling.  I hold a Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in marriage and family therapy.

My past experience includes working for two colleges, Our Lady of the Lake University and Virginia Military Institute, where I provided comprehensive counseling services in addition to developing and presenting preventative, wellness focused educational programs. Additionally, while living in Virginia, I worked in private practice and in community mental health where I provided individual, couple and family psychotherapy, crisis intervention and consultation, and substance abuse assessments and treatment planning.  During this time, I co-facilitated two psycho-educational groups (Substance Abuse Education and Anger Management) and two process groups (Recovery and Women’s Group).

My Approach

Every couple is unique, with varying needs, preferences and presenting issues.  I tailor my approach to each couple’s style of thinking and relating.  I have a compassionate approach and work to create a neutral and non-judgmental environment for couples to explore their differences, heal, and solidify their relationship.  I work collaboratively with every couple I see in order to establish a clear set of priorities for the working relationship. Throughout the therapeutic process, I check back with each partner periodically to ensure satisfaction and facilitate goal achievement.  I feel that feedback, on my part and on the part of the client, is essential in maintaining a successful outcome.
